christianity explained.

What makes you a Christian? What about Christianity is different from other religious and spiritual options?
One day in Owenton I saw a car with a bumper sticker that said, “Coexist.” The letters of the word were represented by various religious symbols. I’ve seen the stickers a number of times in Louisville, but it surprised me to see one in Owenton.

I was surprised because of what the sticker represents. The sticker does not merely represent the idea that we can “coexist” peacefully with other religions. I am okay with that.
Instead, it represents the idea that all religions are equally true. They all teach basically the same things: love, trust in a higher power, etc.; and therefore, they all lead to the same end whatever that may be called: heaven, nirvana, paradise. It makes no difference whether you are a Jew, Muslim, Jehovah’s Witness, Buddhist, Satanist, Christian or whatever. You have your truth. Someone else has his or her truth.
But is that really the truth? Certainly not! As Christians, we believe in certain doctrines that distinguish us from every other religion or belief system in the world. These doctrines are not merely a truth but the Truth, which everyone must believe in order to be saved. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Please join us on Sunday nights beginning on January 13 to study the distinguishing marks of Christianity: Jesus the Son of God, the Cross, the Resurrection, Grace, Repentance, and Belief.
I think you will find that Christianity Explained will be of great benefit to you in this shifting world.
