Genesis 1:31-2:3

 

When God completed his work on the seventh day, he rested.  Because of this Israel was commanded to rest on the Sabbath day.  For the Christian, however, this command does not continue.  It was the shadow of what would come in Christ.  In Christ, we find our true Sabbath rest.
